Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water,
But a man of understanding will draw it out.
Proverbs 20:5
Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety. Proverbs 11:14
Open Heart Ministry recognizes the need for healing the spirit, soul and body of an individual because all are intertwined and conditions of one area are connected with the others.
Individual and group counseling services are available providing in depth assistance for people with emotional, spiritual and physical health issues. The promise of life in Christ lived out through Holy Spirit is the promise of freedom. More and more Christians are beginning to see that reality manifest in their lives. But many are kept bound by past hurtful and unhealed experiences and live in a cycle of self destructive habits and thought patterns. The power of the cross is sufficient to set all people free. The challenge is to apply the power of the cross to specific areas of wounding that are often complex, entrenched or hidden. Open Heart Ministry counseling combines traditional counseling methods with Holy Spirit led prayer and neuro-emotional techniques in the PrayerCare Therapy™ framework. The results of this approach have been life-changing and liberating!
Our counseling process includes stimulating Christian spiritual growth, providing encouragement and guidance in areas of loss and grief, depression, healing for life’s hurts, and in offering support for those who suffer life-defining illnesses and for their caregivers. We will apply biblically-based concepts and principles in the ministry of transformation of the inner self through restoration and reconciliation to God, others, and self. It is our intent to bring Jesus to the wounded heart and to provide the tools with which to live life daily in the midst of recovery and transformation. Also incorporated in the counseling session may be PrayerCare Therapy™ and nutritional assessment when indicators deem necessary. The overall well-being of our clients is our priority.
Open Heart Ministry endorses the work of John and Paula Sandford's Elijah House Prayer Ministry as a group that provides foundational strategies for emotional healing within the Christian context. Most of the leadership team has been through the Elijah House Prayer Ministry Training and the PrayerCare Therapy Training.
